Oscuro Capricornio: a vermouth born under the Atacama sky
In Copiapó, in the heart of the Atacama Desert, Oscuro Capricornio is born, an artisanal vermouth that explores the identity of the territory through its grapes, herbs, and botanicals. A proposal that unites tradition, experimentation, and creativity to give life to a concoction that expresses the aromas and flavors of northern Chile.
Created in July 2023 by Guido Lobos, a musician and herbal liqueur enthusiast, Oscuro Capricornio emerged from sensory exploration and a process of personal transformation. Its imagery takes the form of a goat ascending a mountain in the darkness, discovering herbs, botanicals, and potions under a starry sky. This figure represents resilience, intuition, and the search for new possibilities, becoming the spirit that gives identity to the project.
Its recipe highlights ingredients linked to the northern landscape, such as Moscatel de Austria wine from the Huasco Valley and Andean mountain sage, which blend with wormwood, cardamom, cinnamon, elderflower, figs, blueberries, and oranges. The combination of these elements creates a botanical profile that invites the discovery of new layers of aromas and flavors, connecting the character of the vermouth with the natural richness of Atacama.
More than a drink, Oscuro Capricornio is an invitation to explore the universe of artisanal concoctions from origin, imagination, and experimentation. Its versatility allows it to be enjoyed on the rocks, in an Oscuro Tonic with tonic water, as part of a classic Negroni, or combined with sparkling wine, opening up possibilities for both mixology and those seeking new experiences centered around botanical flavors.
